The Alabama Association of Nonprofits has launched a film festival of works by nonprofits in the state. AAN partnered with the Fidelity Charitable Catalyst Fund to provide grants to 10 nonprofits through a competitive process.
The 10 grant recipients are creating a short film about their missions in action. These nonprofits and their short films will be in the spotlight at the first-ever Nonprofit Film Festival on October 3 at the Birmingham Jefferson Convention Complex.
This year’s 10 Nonprofits Film Stars are:
Birmingham Education Foundation
Khairi and Little Angels’ Memorial
South Baldwin Literacy Council
This inaugural event will showcase the value of these diverse nonprofit organizations and help others know the importance of their missions. The film festival is open to community members, nonprofit leaders, foundation staff and trustees, potential donors, the media, elected officials, and AAN members.
Before premiering the films, participants will hear from Tony Bowen, executive director of Fidelity Charitable® Catalyst Fund, Elaine Martyn, senior vice president of the Private Donor Group at Fidelity Charitable, and Marsha Morgan, a founding member of the Birmingham Change Fund.
