Common Impact, a  Brooklyn, N.Y. nonprofit that fosters partnerships between companies nationwide and leading nonprofits to propel social good, announced the appointment of Rachel Hutchisson as its interim chief executive officer for at least the next 12 months. Hutchisson is best known for her sector work at Blackbaud where she was vice president of global social responsibility. Hutchisson led the company to receive multiple honors, including recognition from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation and Newsweek, for leadership in philanthropy and corporate social responsibility.

“I’m committed to building a stronger, more resilient ecosystem for social impact, where nonprofits and corporations can collaborate effectively to create lasting change,” Hutchisson said via a statement. “This appointment aligns with my passion and expertise. My experience in strategic communications, nonprofit governance, and community engagement will help scale the organization’s impact and position it for continued success.”

In addition to being an active board member for Common Impact, her experience includes leadership roles with Procure Impact, The Generosity Commission, The Giving Institute, The Association of Fundraising Professionals, and more, where she has contributed expertise in branding, fundraising, strategy, and governance. Her ability to navigate complex situations with multiple stakeholders and position programs for success will be a tremendous asset in her role as CEO, according to an announcement from the firm.
