[PODCAST] Understanding the Future of Individual Giving
A Report that Helps Us Understand the Future of Individual Giving
There’s the Giving USA Report and the Foundation Stats, and I’m sure your CRM has produced something updating you on sector trends this quarter. So, which one is best? Is there a report that helps you gauge your nonprofit’s growth in the larger scope of the sector? What about donor trends? Corporate giving? Listen as Tim Sarrantonio shares key takeaways and makes the case that the Donors: Understanding the Future of Individual Giving Report is the “one report to rule them all.” Take a listen to see if you agree!
You’re not going to be the next CharityWater…And that is ok.
What makes this report different (arguably, better) from others
Most nonprofit sector analysis involves the top 10-20% of organizations based on gross receipts and volume of donations; so, if you’re in that upper quadrant, congrats! You’re setting bars and benchmarks. But, if you’re not, you’re not alone, and you’re certainly not any less of a success. Comparison is the thief of not only happiness but time, energy, and confidence. Stop looking at data that is not relevant to your organization. Hone in on the statistics and findings to help your organization scale to the next level, not distract you. One of the aspects of this report we loved the most is that it focuses almost entirely on the individual donor and the traits and behaviors that help nonprofits meet and understand that donor.
Would it be helpful to know what day of the week is best to contact donors?
How about the best way to contact donors (hint: phone calls are out!)
The report does an excellent job of synthesizing the data of the many credible and valuable resources available while zeroing in on the points that matter to nonprofit fundraisers.
Kudos, Neon One. You’ve created one report to rule them all!
