TrueSense Marketing Appoints Co-Presidents
TrueSense Marketing, the national direct response fundraising firm based in Warrendale, Pennsylvania, promoted executive vice presidents Marcy Auman and Shawn Reed to co-presidents. Founding President Steven Bushee is moving into the CEO role.
“This transition makes perfect sense now,” said Busheé. “It sets up TrueSense to ensure success for our nonprofit clients — which we have brought them for decades — for decades to come.”
Busheé added via a statement, “No one knows the business better or has been more instrumental in our growth than Shawn and Marcy. They understand how we created success for our clients in the past and what it will take to continue that success in a rapidly changing future. It makes sense that the next evolution in our technical and personal approach to results and relationships happens under their combined direct leadership.”
Busheé, whose family began the business in 1965, will remain active as CEO and integral to the agency’s growth and health while also devoting more time to both family and personal projects, according to information in the announcement. Busheé said he is not retiring but is shifting focus. “I’ll stay completely tied to the business but feel great about passing the baton for daily executive leadership to Marcy and Shawn,” he said via the statement.
Auman and Reed will have equal authority in the agency and will retain oversight of the client groups they currently manage, according to information in the statement. They will also lead in the agency’s other business focus areas. Auman will oversee operations, information technology, and client experience. Reed will lead on sales, client strategy, and digital and creative innovation.
“We’ve been fortunate to grow our agency while still focusing on care for others — through our clients and through our agency,” added Auman via the statement. “It’s an exceptional honor to lead such an amazing group of people,” said Reed.
In January 2023, TrueSense Marketing acquired One & All Agency, the fundraising firm that was formed when international public relations and marketing firm Omnicom purchased both the Russ Reid and Grizzard agencies and merged them in 2017 and rebranded them in 2018. In January 2014, the firm acquired Scott Wilder Productions, the video and radio production company of Texas-based Christian radio host Scott Wilder.
